Notice of New Medical Dressing Fee
At The Bendigo Clinic, we are introducing a new fee structure to cover the cost of medical dressings used during consultations. This charge will be added to the consultation fee, depending on the complexity of the dressing required.
A basic dressing will cost $20, a complex dressing may be more. Patients are welcome to purchase appropriate dressings directly from the pharmacy if you choose to do so.
Please note, due to Medicare legislation regarding the charging of private fees, patients who are normally bulk billed will be charged the rebate amount + dressing fee for the associated consultation fee rather than being bulk billed at the time of billing, you will be only out of pocket the dressing fee amount.

Introducing MyMedicare
MyMedicare is a new free voluntary patient registration model. It aims to formalise the relationship between patients, their general practice, general practitioner and primary care teams.
When you register with MyMedicare, it will notify your general practice that you have chosen them as your regular care team. Additional funding will be available from the government to help them provide the care you need.
MyMedicare patients will have access to:
- Greater continuity of care with your registered practice, improving health outcomes
- Longer Medicare Benefits Scheme (MBS) funded telehealth consultations with your GP
- Triple bulk billing incentive for longer MBS telehealth consultations for children under 16, pensioners, and concession card holders, from 1 November 2023.
- More regular visits from your GP and better care planning for people living in residential aged care, from August 2024.
- Connections to more appropriate care in general practice for people who visit hospital frequently, from mid-2024.
If you choose not to register with MyMedicare, you'll still be able to access the same quality of care from your healthcare providers.
